We recently established a 625 m² (6,725 ft²) community farm, located about 20 minutes drive from downtown Brikama. The farm aims to address food insecurity, creates job opportunities for middle-aged females, and generates income for the community through selling produce.
Sustainability is at the heart of our mission. We utilize solar-powered boreholes for irrigation; practice agroforestry, composting, and crop rotation; and hold sustainable farming basics workshops.
